Issue 1) ALL VEHICLES – Displayed temperature will only update when vehicle is moving. On startup, last known temperature is displayed and vehicle may need to be driven for several minutes before it is updated. Before replacing sensor for an inaccurate or slow to update complaint, please perform the following test: 1. Turn ignition key off and allow the vehicle to soak at a known temperature for 10 minutes. 2. Remove the IOD fuse, wait 10 seconds, and reinstall fuse 3. Turn ignition key on and check temperature display. If display has updated to accurate temperature, the sensor is functioning properly and should not be replaced. Explain the behavior to the customer, referring them to the “Understanding Your Instrument Panel” section of their Owner’s Manual. Issue 2) 2009 DS ONLY - if the ambient air temperature displayed in the cluster is higher than actual temperature or fault code P0071 - Ambient Temp Sensor Performance is present, use the V.I.P. Inquiry system to verify if Rapid Response Transmittal number 09-010 applies to this vehicle. If RRT 09-010 does not apply to this vehicle, refer to TSB 08-008-09. Issue 3) 2008 & 2009 RT ONLY - if the ambient air temperature displayed in the cluster is higher than actual temperature or fault code P0071 - Ambient Temp Sensor Performance is present, Use the V.I.P. Inquiry system to verify if Rapid Response Transmittal number 09-045 applies to this vehicle.
