If the tilt / telescope locking lever is disengaged from the steering column adjuster mechanism (RED CLIP SIDE) within the inside of the shroud assembly verify the following. Inspect to be sure the red retainer clip is fully locked into place on the column end before replacing the shroud assembly for this condition.
