If replacing a "PURGE VALVE" or "INTAKE MANIFOLD" for a whistle sound on a 2008 or 2009 3.5L LX follow this procedure: For diagnostic purposes only, remove purge line at the intake manifold and cap the port. Drive the vehicle for a minimum of 10 minutes (to ensure that purge has been activated). If the whistle is eliminated, reconnect the purge line and refer to the following: TSB 18-036-08 Rev A. If the noise is not eliminated, then reconnect purge line and continue with normal service diagnostics.
